They offer extensive training in all aspects of investigation both theoretical and practical. Foreign Sudents

All foreign students are welcome to enroll in the Alfa Multi Career College of Canada. The duration of the diploma course for foreign students is 12 months, as additional theory in law enforcement, English language and culture is covered.

Student visas are issued by the Canadian Embassy at their sole discretion. Therefore, ALFA does not guarantee issue of the visa.

Security Guard

Training Curriculum for Security Guards

Training Content and Program Length:

The minimum length of in-class time for the basic security guard training program is no less than 40 hours. The following table suggests the duration for each training section and includes both in-class and outside class hours. Outside class hours refer to pre-reading only; all other training methods must take place in-class. These hours are estimates and may need to be adjusted based on student learning abilities/trainer preference. The trainer must determine the optimal number of hours for each section of his/her program design, but the total must be no less then 40.

Ministry Training Content:

1. Introduction to the Security Industry : 2 hrs / 2 hrs
2. The Private Security and Investigative Services Act and Ministry
Code of Conduct : 2 hrs / 3 hrs
3. Basic Security Procedures: 3 hrs / 5 hrs
4. Report Writing: 2 hrs / 2 hrs
5. Health and Safety: 1 hr / 1 hr
6. Emergency Response Preparation: 4 hrs / 4 hrs
7. Canadian Legal System: 3 hrs / 6 hrs
8. Legal Authorities: 14 hrs / 10 hrs
9. Effective Communication: 4 hrs / 3 hrs
10. Sensitivity Training: 3 hrs / 2 hrs
11. Use of Force Theory: 2 hrs / 2 hrs
12. First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR): Additional hours may be required

Total hours: 40 hrs (in-class) / 40 hrs (outside of class)

Private Investigator

7. Key Principles of Communication and Interaction: 7 hrs / 0 hrs
8. Self-Management Skills: 5 hrs / 2 hrs

Total hours: 50 hrs (in-class) / 29 hrs (outside of class)
